These first pieces of advice are critical to making to the right airport choice, there are many more useful pieces of information that we have broken down into categories below:

All Transfers
When it comes to your accommodation address the more the merrier! For anyone that has visited Chβtel in the Portes du Soliel, you will know how many separate chalets there are, spread over a huge area. So just knowing the chalet name is not enough. Please speak to the accommodation owner/agent to obtain a full address.
Luggage is always a interesting one, as we have luggage guidelines just as the airlines do and we actually work to similar guidelines; one piece of hand luggage and one large piece of luggage per person.  We do cater for extra luggage requirements but we need to know in advance and this could incur a surcharge.

Making the Intelligent decision between car hire or a private transfer
The options come down to personal preference however a full understanding of the options will lead to a safer choice. Transfers can be booked as soon as you have booked your flight, from any popular airport a private car can be arranged to meet you from your flight and cater for your luggage needs with enough space to fit all your skis, boards & suitcases. The driver will then take you direct to your accommodation; these drivers are professionals who know the road ahead, and have knowledge of what will be the quickest way to your resort. The driver will also be informed of your accommodation address meaning no getting lost in-resort!
All transfer vehicles and drivers are fully insured and licensed meaning the price you pay includes security. The vehicles will be equipped for the mountain roads, with special snow tyres and a set of chains when the snow really starts falling.
The option of car rental can also can be booked at the time of reserving your flight, with most popular airports having car rental available. A full range of vehicles will be offered; but beware of the extra costs:

The service does allow freedom to drive yourself to your resort as you want, however journeys can often be troublesome.
Driving yourself to the mountains requires some preparation and knowledge of the route; practise of putting on snow chains, and knolwedge of where the nearest petrol station is etc. There have been many reports of holidaymakers driving up one side of a mountain only to find the pass is closed throughout the winter and there is no option but to turn around, making journey time considerably longer. The reports of trouble don't stop there, one family decided to economise on car insurance and, on arrival at their ski resort, parked the car. On the return to the car they found the snow lodged on the roof of a nearby building had fallen and crushed the car…
